	After a year of intense reconstruction, Pacific Sands leaves the shop for Los Angeles Union Station, June, 2004
	Maiden run to San Diego Three round trips June 12, 2004
	On the way to Portland June 23, 2004
	Layover in Portland with the Overland Trail
	Pacific Sands and Overland Trail at Portland Union Station
	We cross the river to turn our cars at Portland
	Amtrak backs us on to the Coast Starlight for the return trip to Los Angeles
	We stop and wait for UP freights, making us late, but no one really cares.  We are having a good time!
	Astonishingly, the return trip is even better!
